SAFRA Resort & Country Club has hosted several golf tournaments since it first opened. In August 1998, it hosted the prestigious Ericsson Open 98 golf championship. This premier event was jointly organized by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) and the Asian Professional Golfers' Association

Completion and the
launch of the first of the newly upgraded golf courses – Army course
Army course is the first of the three 9-hole courses that underwent
upgrading in SAFRA Resort location. The upgrading for the entire
27-hole golf course would be progressed one 9-hole course at a time
and is estimated to complete by April 2008. This golf course
upgrading project came barely a year after the Resort’s major social
facilities upgrading and sees the golf course improved for better
aesthetics and playing pleasure.
