 Application for Membership / Extension of Membership
   
Q: Who can apply for Ordinary / Associate (Basic) Membership (New)?
A: Ordinary Membership (Basic) - OMB - Any person who are serving or have completed Full-Time National Service and have National Service liability may apply for Ordinary Membership (Basic).
Associate Membership (Basic) - AMB - Any person who has completed his NS liability at the time of application may apply for either Associate Membership (Basic).
   
Q: How long does it take to process my application?
A: 10 working days from the date the application is received by the Membership Department.
   
Q: What are the membership fee and monthly subscription payable?
A: Please refer to Fee Structure for membership fees. Monthly subscription fees (exc. GST) for:
Ordinary / Ordinary (Basic) Members - *$20 (Principal Member) and $10 (Family Membership).
Associate / Associate (Basic) Members - $30 (Principal Member) and $15 (Family Membership).
* will be revised to $25 w.e.f 1 Apr 2005
    
Q: Is membership transferable?
A: Generally, transfer of membership is not allowed as Ordinary and Associate (Basic) Memberships are term memberships. However, exception is given to Ordinary / Associate (Basic) Member to transfer the balance of his membership term to his son who is a Full-Time National Serviceman or an existing Operationally Ready National Serviceman. The transfer fee is 10% of the prevailing entrance fee for the remaining membership term.
   
Q: Can I renew / extend my membership when it expires?
A: Yes. Ordinary (Basic) Members may renew/extend their membership provided they are still NS liable. Ordinary Members (Basic) who have completed their NS liability may extend their membership under the Associate Membership (Basic) category.
   
Q: When can I start using the Club facilities?
A: You may start using the Club facilities upon receipt of your membership card. Your membership card will be issued upon receipt of the full payment of your entrance fees and security deposit.
   
Q: What is Security Deposit? Is it refundable?
A: The Security Deposit is a compulsory deposit for your internal credit (billing) account. It has a charge limit of $1,000. The Security Deposit will be refunded (less any outstanding under the member's account) when the membership term expires or is withdrawn or terminated under Article 8 of the Constitution.

 Withdrawal of Membership
   
Q: How do I withdraw my membership?
A: For withdrawal request, the member is required to submit a written notice to the Membership Department. At the same time, he is also required to return all membership card(s) and car label(s) issued (if any) and make payment for any outstanding balance due to the Club. The withdrawal request will only be processed upon receipt of all items mentioned above.
     
Q: Will I get a refund of the unused portion of the entrance fee paid if I terminate my membership before it expires?
A: No. There shall be no refund of any entrance fees or part thereof already paid to the Club upon the early determination of a current and/or an extension to the current membership term.
   
Q: Can I withdraw my application after my membership has been approved but before my term starts?
A:  Yes. You may decline to accept the offer of membership after notification of approval, however an admin fee equivalent to 5% of the membership entrance fee will be levied.

 Absent Membership
   
Q: What is Absent Membership? Who can apply?
A: Ordinary and Associate Members who are leaving the country for a period of six(6) months and above (up to maximum of 50% of membership term) may apply for Absent Membership subject to the Management's approval. Upon approval of the application, the membership term will be suspended and monthly subscription fees would be halved during the absent period. The length of the absent period will be added to the membership term upon expiry of Absent Membership. 
   
Q: How to apply for Absent Membership? 
A: You will need to complete the Absent Membership Application Form and submit it together with documentary proof (e.g. exit permit, letter of appointment from company) of your absence.
   
Q: Can Supplementary Member(s) utilise the Club facilities during the Principal Member's absent period? 
A: No. Family members may not utilise the Club facilities until the Absent Membership is reinstated to Ordinary / Associate Membership.
   
Q: Can Absent Members apply to use the Club facilities when he is back on home leave?
A: Yes. Absent Members may utilise the Club facilities at members' rate for a maximum of 14 days (consecutively) per year of absence. Beyond that, members will have to pay Day Member's rate if they continue to use the Club facilities during their absent period (Golf will be charged at NSman's rate). Members have to notify the Membership Department at least three(3) weeks in advance before using the Club facilities.

 Family Membership
   
Q: How many family membership cards (supplementary) can I apply?
A: Family Membership is open to your spouse and children aged between 12 and 21 years old. Monthly Family Subscription Fee (excluding GST) is $10 for Ordinary Membership, or $15 for Associate Membership per family, regardless of the number of supplementary cards held.
   
Q: Can I apply for family membership cards for my parents and siblings / relatives?
A: No. Family Membership is only open to your spouse and children.
   
Q: How do I apply for supplementary membership cards?
A: Complete the Application for Membership Cards Form and submit it with the following:
One coloured passport-sized photograph for each applicant;
A copy of your Marriage Certificate for Spouse Membership; and
A copy of your Children's Birth Certificate(s) for Junior Membership.
   
Q: What facilities do supplementary members get to enjoy?
A: All facilities at members' rate, except for golfing where family members pay relevant green fee.
   
Q: Can my supplementary card holders book facilities?
A: Spouse members may make booking for all facilities. Junior members may make booking for all facilities, except golf and bungalow.
    
Q: Can my child below 12 years old use the Club facilities since he does not have a membership card?
A: Yes. Children below 12 years old need not pay any Day Membership fee but have to be accompanied by the member / adult. If the child possesses a relevant golf Proficiency Certificate / Handicap, he may apply for Junior Membership (subject to the Management's approval) to enjoy golf at family member's rate.
   
Q: Can my supplementary card holders sign for internal credit?
A: Yes.

 Membership Services
   
Q: How do I replace my lost / damaged membership card? What is the replacement fee?
A: A fee of $10 (exc. GST) will be levied for replacement of lost membership card but can be waived if a police report is attached (for lost card) or if damaged card is returned. Please complete the Membership Service Form and return it with a copy of the police report or damaged card (where applicable) at the Membership Centre or Main Lobby Reception. You may fax the form to the Membership Dept at 6545 6508 if return of damaged card(s) is not applicable.
   
Q: How many car park labels can I apply?
A: A maximum of 2 per family will be issued free-of-charge. A copy of the vehicle registration card or insurance certificate must be submitted for each request. Vehicles must be registered under the Principal Member or Spouse Member who is a Family Member of the Club. A fee of $50 each will be charged for the 3rd and subsequent car labels. 

The Club's car park system is the Electronic Parking System (EPS), hence members are required to register their In-Vehicle Unit (IU) No. with the Club to ensure smooth entry and exit.

   
Q: How do I replace my lost / worn-out car label? What is the replacement fee?
A: A fee of $20 (exc. GST) will be levied for replacement of lost car labels. However, a worn out car label may be exchanged for a new one free-of-charge. Please complete the Membership Service Form and submit it with the necessary documents at the or Membership Centre or Main Lobby Reception. You may fax the form to the Membership Dept at 6545 6508 where the return of worn-out car label(s) is not necessary.
   
Q: How do I inform the Club if there is a change of my address / contact nos.?
A: Please complete the Membership Service Form and submit it at the Membership Centre, Main Lobby Reception or fax to the Membership Dept at 6545 6508. Alternatively, you may send an email to membership@nsrcc.com.sg
   
Q: What is the PIN (Personal Identification Number) and how do I apply for it? 
A: New members will be issued a PIN concurrently with their membership card(s). To request for a new PIN to be issued to you, please contact the Membership Department at 6540 8554 or email membership@nsrcc.com.sg. The PIN will be mailed to you in about 3 working days.
   
Q: What can I do with the PIN?
With the PIN, you can make bookings for golf slots and bungalow, as well as access your Statement of Account online.

Q: When will I be billed the first month subscription fees?
A: Your 1st month subscription fees will be billed upon commencement of your membership term.
Q: When can I start signing in-house credit and when will it be billed to me?
A: You may start to sign in-house credit upon receipt of your membership card. Statement of Account are consolidated at the end of the month and sent to members in the 2nd week of the following month.
Q: How do I make payment for my outstanding balance?
A: Payment can be made through the following methods:
By Cash, NETS or credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Amex) at the Main Lobby Reception (8am to 8pm daily);
By cheque addressed to "National Service Resort & Country Club";
Internet / Phone banking through DBS and OCBC; or
Interbank GIRO - Please complete Interbank-Giro Application Form.
    
Q: Is there an admin fee on late payments / outstanding accounts?
A: Yes. An admin fee of 2% or $3 (excl. GST), whichever is higher will be levied should the account not be settled within 30 days of the first billing.
    
Q: How long does it take to process my Interbank GIRO application? When is the deduction date?
A: Processing normally takes about one month. Hence, please arrange to make your payment through other methods until you receive the notification of approval. The GIRO deduction date is on the 25th of each month.

 Social Facilities & Activities
   
Q: What facilities do I get to enjoy as a member? How many guests can I sign in?
A: Please refer to the table below. NSRCC Ordinary & Associate (Basic) Members will also have access to selected facilities (e.g. badminton, squash, swimming pool, tennis, etc.) at SAFRA Clubhouses island-wide at members' rate.

Q: Can my supplementary card holders sign-in guests?
A: Yes. Spouse and Junior Members above 18 years old may sign-in guests.
   
Q: Does the Club organise social activities or courses for members and their families?
A: Yes. Examples of social activities are Children's Camp, Mass Line Dance, Educational Tour, Talks & Workshops, etc. On top of social activities, the Club also organises courses such as Cooking, Art & Craft, Dancing courses, etc. The schedule of these activities and classes can be found in the bi-monthly newsletter, website and notices around the Club.

 Bungalow Booking
   
Q: How do I make a bungalow booking?
A: Members are allowed to book up to 6 months in advance. Booking can be done through telephone, fax or in person at the Bungalow Reception (9am to 7pm) or Internet.
     
Q: How many bungalows can I book at the same time? What is the minimum booking period?
A: You can book up to 2 Bungalows at the same time. Minimum booking is for 2 nights and maximum of 4 nights. Subsequent nights will be at non-member's rate.
   
Q: What facilities can the bungalow occupants enjoy?
A: Each bungalow is entitled to 8 registered bungalow passes (inclusive of the person who made the booking). The registered bungalow pass holders are allowed to use the Club facilities at member's rate (except Golf and Fruit Machine Room). 
     
Q: How big are the bungalows and what amenities are there?
A: Each bungalow is double-storey and fully air-conditioned. All bungalows are equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pantry, spacious living and dining areas, karaoke VCD player, StarHub Cable TV and a barbeque pit.
     
Q: Is cooking allowed in the bungalow?
A: No. However, there is a microwave for heating of food. 
   
Q: What time can I check-in/out? Can I authorise someone else to check-in/out on my behalf?
A: Check-in time is from 2pm to 7pm daily and check-out time is from 9am to 10am. You may authorise another person (21 years and above) to check-in/out on your behalf by completing the Authorisation Form also available from the Bungalow Booking Office (6542 2036). Authorised check-out guests are responsible for all charges/bills and have to settle them upon check-out.

 Reciprocal Privileges
   
Q: Which are the clubs affiliated to NSRCC?
A: Please refer to Affiliated Clubs.
   
Q: How do I enjoy the affiliation privileges at the respective clubs?
A: To enjoy the privileges, please present your Membership Card, Affiliation Card and Handicap Card (if applicable) at the respective clubs. You may apply for an Affiliation Card through phone (6540 8555) or in-person at the Membership Centre or Main Lobby Reception. Alternatively, you may email your request to membership@nsrcc.com.sg. The processing time is three(3) working days for self-collection and five(5) working days through mail.

 Golfing
   
Q: Can I make booking to golf on weekends / public holidays (PH)?
A: No. Except for the Executive Par 3 Golf Course, Ordinary / Associate (Basic) Members may only golf on weekdays (at the main golf courses - Safra Resort's 27-hole and Kranji Sanctuary's 18-hole). However, they may golf on weekends/PH if they are signed in by Ordinary/Associate/Corporate Members, by paying SAFRA member's rate. They may not golf on Saturday afternoons.
   
Q: Are there golf lessons available? What are the charges like?
A: Yes. Please refer to Golf Lessons.
     
Q: How many golf courses are there at NSRCC? 
A: There are three 9-holes courses, giving three different 18-hole playing combinations, an Executive Par-3 Golf Course (9-hole), a 48-bay Driving Range, as well as Chipping and Putting Green for practice. Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course is an 18-hole course.
   
Q: What are the Green Fee payable? 
A: Please refer to Green Fees Structure.
   
Q: How do I obtain a Proficiency Certificate (PC) and Handicap? 
A: Handicap is awarded after the member passed the Proficiency Certificate Test, Rules of Golf Workshop (Basic) and Handicap Test (HT) in sequential order. Please refer to Handicapping for details.
   
Q: Must I be a NSRCC member to book for my PC test? 
A: Yes.
   
Q: How often are the PC and Handicap tests conducted?
A: PC workshop is conducted once every 6 weeks. Average no. of candidates are about 50. Handicap test is scheduled every month. Candidates will be notified two weeks before the test date. 
   
Q: What is the time norm to obtain a Handicap? 
A: Depending on your submission of scorecards. After you have submitted the required 10 x 18-hole or 20 x 9-hole scorecards (played at NSRCC golf course, not including the Executive Par 3 course), the waiting time for your handicap test is about one to two months.
   
Q: Can I transfer my PC from other clubs?
A: No. Only Handicaps from recognised clubs can be transferred. To obtain a NSRCC PC, you will need to pass the Proficiency Certificate Test as well as the Rules of Golf Workshop (Basic).
   
Q: How can I transfer my Handicap and designate NSRCC as my Home Club? 
A: Transfer of golf Handicaps are allowed for Handicaps issued by any golf club which is affiliated to the National Golf Association of that country. Member would need to complete the transfer form available from the Golf Office (6540 8500) and submit it with the following:
a) Last 20 scores from the current Home Club and his current Handicap;
b) Original letter from the current Home Club signed by the Captain/ Club Manager; 
c) Attendance for the NSRCC Rules of Golf Workshop. 
     
Q: How is golf Handicap maintained?
A: The scorecards of the members will be sent to the Home Club every time he plays a round of 18-hole at any golf course. The Handicap will be recorded in the Handicap Register maintained by the Club which is updated monthly. A member's Handicap shall be revised after he has submitted 20 x 18-hole score cards.
   
Q: Where can I rent a set of golf clubs? Are clubs available for both right-handed as well as left-handed? 
A: Golf clubs are available for rental from the Pro Shop located at the Deck or the Driving Range. Yes, both right and left-handed golf clubs are available.
     
Q: Which golf Handicaps are recognised for play at NSRCC golf courses? 
A: Play shall be restricted to players with a valid and current Handicap recognised by the Club i.e. < 24 for men and < 36 for women. The Club recognises Handicap issued by any golf club which is affiliated to the National Golf Association of that country. Documentary proof is required to show the affiliation for a foreign club Handicap. NSRCC Proficiency Certificate (PC) holders are allowed to play at the Greens on Weekdays and after 4.30pm on Weekends/PH.
   
Q: When and how do I book my golf game at the course?
A: Booking for weekday games can be done up to one week in advance through phone, fax or in-person at the Golf Reception daily from 9.30am to 5pm, or through Internet.
   
Q: How do I make a booking through the Internet? 
A: Simply enter our website's Golf Internet Booking module. You will need to key in your membership ID and your PIN (to apply for PIN, refer to Membership Services Section) in order to view the available slots and make your booking.
   
Q: What do I need to produce to play at the Executive Par 3 Golf Course? 
A: NSRCC membership card and valid Handicap/PC. PC's issued by all SGA affiliated clubs are recognised. A Temporary Par-3 Executive Pass (valid for 6 months) will be issued to a golfer who does not have the valid certification but have been tested by a Golf Pro / Golf Manager / Executive at the Driving Range.
   
Q: How do I make a booking to play at the Executive Par 3 Golf Course? 
A: Booking is not required for the Executive course, as play is by first-come-served basis. Please proceed to the Golf Reception (7am to 5.45pm, daily) to register.
Q: Are Junior Members allowed to play on the course?
A: Minors below the age of 18 years may play on the Greens if they have a valid and current golf Handicap recognised by the Club (or a Proficiency Certificate issued by the Club) and are accompanied by an adult member (with valid and current golf Handicap recognised by the Club). However, they are not permitted to drive a buggy unless with prior written approval of the Club.
   
Q: How many players do I need to gather to book a flight?
A: A minimum of 3 players is required in a flight. If a flight is left with 2 players and they are unable to get another person to join them, that flight shall be cancelled. However, a flight of 2 players is permitted on weekday mornings. The Club has the discretion to fill up any vacant slots and pair individual golfers on the time-sheet.
   
Q: Can I book for golf slot if I am alone? 
A: Yes. The Club will pair up individual golfers to any vacant slots on the time-sheet. However, booking for single slot cannot be done through the Internet.)
   
Q: I have 2 friends who are non-members. Can I book golf slots for my 2 friends?
A: No. One member can only sign-in one guest.

 Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course
   
Q: Where is Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course located? When will it be opened? 
A: The 18-hole Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course is located at Neo Tiew Lane 3. 
   
Q: How big is Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course?
A: The total area including Club House is 54 hectares. The Golf Course itself is 45 hectares and 6400m long. 
Q: Can I play at the new course if I am a current member of NSRCC?
A: Yes. NSRCC members will be able to enjoy golfing at both locations - SAFRA Resort as well as Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course.
Q: What facilities would be available at Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course?
A: The facilities which will be ready by 2004 are the golf course and F&B outlets.
